Donald Johnson’s involvement with Savage IO began as a business management consultant.  In 1977 he started YWC, Inc. an environmental consulting firm which grew to 5 offices, 400 plus employees and annual revenue of $30 million prior to selling the company in 1989.  YWC, Inc. was recognized as the 147th fastest growing company in America by Inc. magazine in 1985.

Donald provided business management consulting services from 1990 through 1997 and then started a travel agency, a startup with no revenue which was later sold after ramping annual revenues to $2.5 million in the first two years.

In 1999 Donald became a partner in a small construction company; moving the company to specialize in high-end residential housing.  In 2005 he purchased his partner’s shares and grew the company to annual revenues of $2.5 million dollars.  He recently sold the company to assume positions as Chairman of the Board for Bucksport Regional Health Center, Board member for Savage IO, and provide business consulting services.

Donald retired in 2001 maintaining his position at the Health Center, volunteering daily at the local school system and local town committees.

Training includes negotiation strategy at Harvard, Business courses, Sacred Heart University, Engineering, New Haven University,  Teaching courses, University of Maine and specialty training at Michigan State, Texas A&M, Clemson, Sacramento State, and the National Technical Training Center, Cincinnati.
