Mike Colyer is a Board Member and Advisor. Prior, he was the President and COO for a year. During this period, Mike built strong processes and lead Savage IO through a rapid growth phase. He served over 10 years at VWR International, including 7 years as the President and CEO of VWR Education, LLC the largest North American manufacturer and distributor of science education materials. Mike began his career on the Leadership program at GE and was a leader of the Six Sigma Lean efforts at Textron.
He is an active member of the Young Presidents Origination, where he has served as Chapter Chair. Over the past 10 years, he has donated his time as a youth sports coach and helping high school kids transition to college. He served on the Board of Directors for the VWR Foundation. Since 2007, he and his wife, Lisa, co-founded and run the Clairebear Foundation, a non-profit, which has donated more than $250,000 to families with sick children. Mike holds an MBA in Corporate Finance and a BS in Civil Engineering from the University at Buffalo and was recently recognized as a UB distinguished alumni in Rochester. In 2011, Mike was voted one of Rochester’s 40 under 40.
